MACRA is Here – Avoid Penalties in 2020

As with previous CMS initiatives, MACRA has a two-year lag  between data submission and payment adjustments. For example, 2019 adjustments will be based on 2017 data. Also, CMS will  set the performance threshold on an annual basis, meaning it  may change from year to year. Those who exceed the threshold sufficiently will receive incentives, and those who fall sufficiently below will incur penalties.
